The night of october 29th 1996 will always be a special memory for me... It's the night Pearl Jam made me sit up and take notice!!.. Of course along with others I had bought the Ten album and even bought Daughter on Cd single...... I was a veteran of a few 100 concerts( inlcuding Nirvanas last gig in england)..... A week before the concert took place my friend who worked at Sony Music rang and said he had two spare tickets for a Pearl Jam gig at Wembley Arena..." Would i like them????".... Not doing anything that week and always out for a freebie i accepted his offer. AT the Arena the lights dimmed the crowd went mad!!!.... I wasn't expecting much BUT WOW!!!!.... We gently lifted off With Release (the start of my goosebumps) and propelled through a show which took me through many emotions (never happened like this at a gig b4)..... A lot of the songs i hadn't heard before but i cared not a jot..... Finally i thought, THIS is what live music is all about.....
Since that night I have seen 4pearl jam shows each a classic... I have converted many NON believers along the way........
I can't wait till Manchester Aug 09...... I am taking my daughter(8) to her very first Concert. She loves the music as much as me.... Hey just passing it on!!!
