This was the first show after the enormous tragedy that took place at the 'Roskilde festival' at the 30th of june that year, as you all know. I remember watching it on the news & reading it in the papers.
This was a day like 9-11 for me. I was never on any of the two tragedies but I felt powerless, defeeded and a little bit lost those days. Even if it was far far away from where I lived, I remember being scared and angry.

I was looking at and listening to a few shows last week from their 2000 world tour and I have noticed that Eddie wore a beard since their first show in North-America, back than.
To me (t)his beard represented a new chapter in Eddie's (and in the other members') life, because I can('t) imagine what impact the tragedy had on the band and especially on the family of the young people who died or got injured that day.
It seemed to me that after this black day, the band would never be the same again. This was a turning point.
Emotionaly there is a Pearl Jam before and one after this day in my modest opinion.
But don't get me wrong: this band plays better than ever!
