Just got the box set for my b-day, thanks to my wife, who's attended 2 of the last 3 PJ shows with me. It's so far, incredible. Hard to love it more than the Gorge set, since I was at the DIRTY FRANK show on the first night, 2 nights after the CCFA show in Portland on 7/20/06 but the one thing that baffles me about this 4-show set, same as it did with the Masfield 2003 shows is that when they attempt to play every song from their recorded catalog they leave off RED MOSQUITO!!!
How does that happen? I literally saw them play it live 1 month earlier in Portland on 9/26/09... they went on to play it several more times that week, thankfully, with Ben Folds on slide tearin up the joint. But the same thing happened with the Mansfield sets. They left it off, despite playing it before & after those shows.
Why is such an awesome song so quickly forgotten when they attempt to play through the catalog?
Hearing Bugs live is incredible. Watching it on youtube is so awesome too. Possibly the only time it will ever be played live. Surprised "the Color Red" from Yield and "Pry, to" and "Aye Davanita" didn't make appearances here either. Not surprised Stupid Mop got skipped tho! LOL!
Well, at least I have the not-quite-Portland show version to listen to whenever... the highlight of the night was Red Mosquito that night. Shoulda been at the Spectrum.
Overall, incredible, energetic set that sounds amazing, even on disc. Can only imagine how it musta sounded at the glorious, late Spectrum, RIP.
I am listening to it right now on Pearl Jam Radio, freaking awesome show... and as days go by, I am arriving at a decision that surely it was made before: buying the Philly Box Set...
This was an incredibly energized show. I don't know if it was because it was Halloween, but the guys sounded great and gave all of us amazing songs that they rarely (if ever) play live.
Almost 4 hours of pure Pearl Jam. They should make a DVD of this amazing show!
just got home to ireland,no one around, big house, no neighbours ... took the speakers out to the yard and turned it 'up to 11'! a bottle of wine or so was the perfect appropriate accompaniment! got to be one of the greatest live performances of all time!
October 31, 2009 at the Spectrum has to be, in my opinion, the best show ever! It had more emotion, love, humor, and rock than I have ever seen at a show. PJ has never let me down with any of the shows I have been too but this one show is the most near and dear to my heart. Although the show in State College, PA would have to be my "runner-up".
I flew in from Charlotte for this show. Was so worth it. It had been 3 years since I saw them and I was desperate to experience it another time. Thirst quenched. Loved the Devo performance....and was so glad they played Crown of Thorns. That was one I wanted to see real bad. Also loved the 2 guys who came to the show dressed as Mario and Luigi.
Maybe should add Star Spangled Banner to Yellow Ledbetter as tag? That was awesome and great way to end an epic show, with confetti falling, in city of Brotherly Love.
Having gotten a ticket to this show totally by a surprising turn, I suppose one should be grateful for just having been at this epic performance...so, it is with somme guilt and a feeling of greed that we BEG BEG for the bootleg...it has been way too long....please, please let us have it!!
I have been patient, but I ride by the Philly Spectrum everyday, and if they are waiting for the destruction of the Spectrum; then I will knock it down. I went to Wednesday and Saturday's show in October, and they were the two best shows I ever saw in The Philadelphia Spectrum! I have been going to concerts at the Spectrum since 1984. I probably went to at least 50 concerts and was a Flyers Season Ticket Holder for 12 years needless to say I will miss the Spectrum dearly; especially for its sound quality! I am confident to say "they saved the best for last", and moved Pearl Jam into THE BEST BAND EVER category! They have now in my humble opinion moved past Led Zeppelin! I play guitar and am a Robert Johnson and Muddy waters Disciple, so for me to say that means a lot!!!!!! They just have a sound that is both addicting and diverse!
Please release a DVD of at least Saturday nights show, so everyone who was there can relive it, and those who were not can be blessed with Rock n Roll at its BEST!!
I am sure the bootlegs will be out soon. It was the best show ever!! How could they put that out without something special? My buddy and I were upgraded to first row for this show and he just returned from Iraq, What a way to be wecomed back to freedom of America!! Thanks PJ!!!
People, stop worrying about these bootlegs. Its been over 3 months and we still have nothing. Its pretty safe to say that they're doing a big CD/DVD release for these shows. They played 103 different songs so they're probably gonna release footage from all 4 shows and probably release the bootlegs along with them. And like I said before they'll probably time this for when they finally knock down the Spectrum
my dad passed in august, his birthday is halloween, to see pj with my son and see eddie point to the spectrum ceiling and sing i miss you already i'll miss you always, while i was doing the same about my dad was humbling. plus we were in the 300 level and an angel showed up with tickets right next to the stage. mike mccready was 10 feet from us standing on an amp during Alive. all in all a special show.
It was an unbelievable event to be a part of, from The World Series taking place, the Spectrum's final act, to Giants vs Eagles, and Halloween night, I feel real fortunate to have attended. However, It's lame that they haven't released these shows yet. At least let folks know that someday they either will, or will not have them available. Just "gimme some truth" as Eddie may put it, or shall I say John Lennon. Nice work "10C"
Pearl Jam on Halloween night was the greatest concert I have ever been to in my 30 years of attending concerts...I I have seen many groups in their prime years several times between 1979 and today...including the who, the kinks, van halen, stones, springteen, u2, rainbow, winwood, clapton, dave matthews band, smashing pumpkins, elvis costello, queen, rush, allman bros, tom petty, jethro tull, inxs (and other PJ shows)... and PJ Holloween night tops every one of them.
They already have the bootlegs of the November shows out. They've got to release this show soon. I can't wait to hear it again. Come on PJ, what's up with that? Gimmee the boot, Gimmee the boot.
Odds are we're not getting these shows anytime soon. They're probably saving all 4 shows for one big CD/DVD release. Sadly they'll probably time the release somewhere around the time they knock down the Spectrum. That sucks royally but its the most likely scenario.
For the love of all that is holy-PLEASE release the Philly boots, or make some sort of announcement about them-it's pretty obvious that they are the only shows not available. I WANT THE HALLOWEEN SHOW-PLEASE THROW ME A FREAKING BONE HERE!
this show was awesome. it was my first pearl jam show, i will definitely be back for more, unfortunatley not at the spectrum...when is the bootleg going to be available...i keep checking and still nothing...please release the bootleg!!!!!
This was my first show, I was invited by my roommate who has seen them nine times. Needless to say I was blown away and when I got home I joined the Ten Club
I to am waiting for the bootleg to this show. I came from Buffalo to see it it & my daughter came from Charlotte. This was her first Pearl Jam show & my 6th... what a treat for my daughter to see this one. 3 hours 45 minutes of the best music ever!!
I was wondering since these set of shows are not currently available to download, will there be an official release of these concerts (like the Gorge shows). If so, can we have it before Christmas? :)
This show was amazing. Thanks to Ten Club for the great seats. It was funny when Eddie brought out a girl with a scoreboard showing the score in the World Series game. The Phillies fans went crazy when they were up 3-0. However, when the Yankees took the lead Eddie never brought her out again. As a Yankees fan it was great not to have to see her again.
A little help if possible. Just had to move from Philly right before the shows at the end of October. My mom passed and it could not be avoided. Anyway, I am either slow on the uptake or I can't find the bootlegs for any of those nights? Coming soon? Please.
this show this night was the most memorable night of my life will never be lost or forgotton in my mind god bless the spectrum and god bless pearl jam cant say enough of how much you's love us and we love you's

I have been to many, MANY Pearl Jam shows and this one is by far my favorite. Definitely DVD worthy.

I cannot believe they pulled Out of My Mind out.
OK so no bootlegs yet, but I got 3 shows to look forward to. It's a fair trade I think.
