This boot from the Jazzfest is a solid, short gig.The cover of So You Wanna be a Rock n Roll Star is great, then into Lukin and Corduroy is a solid opening 3.In My Tree is a little off,as is the break of Got Some. This is the bands first gig since the end of the Australian tour,Nov 2009.GTF doesnt seem to have the usual fire, and Ed doesnt scream his ass off in the middle like he almost always does. The band are a little rusty, but Even Flow has the band fired up on all cylinders.Ed mentions about being in a New Orleans jail, funny stuff.I guess the band had time constraints due to the fact that this is a festival. This show is well under the 2 hour + norm for PJ (bout 90 or so min). The second disc is only 38 min. This is a nicely balanced setlist non the less.SH into Nothingman works. You wont find many bands who play a hard tune into a ballad as well as PJ do. IMO I would have left off Comatose and 1/2 Full for 2 stronger songs (Black,The End),since this show is so short. The addition of Tremor Christ as an encore is a pleasant surprise and sounds very good.Kick out the Jams ends this show kind of on an odd note. But,thats what makes this show a keeper...nothing as it seems.

my first pj gig! still a blur... amazing. short. wished they played forever! came from ireland to see them. would do it all over again. i will actually, soon. thanks guys

dam looks a little short but what a fucking setlist!!!!

Go to the Special Category in the Goods section. They have the New Orleans show in there.

I may have missed it...
The Jazz Fest doesn't sell this bootleg. IS there one coming? I was there and the show rocked.

Thanks to our people in service of our country and to PJ for honoring them, we as a crowd were honored to send love.
thanks to New Orleans for the hospitality and MAGIC
thanks to Pearl Jam for rocking out at Jazz Fest and for adding Band of Horses to the tour.
thanks to PJ fans who shared their beers, smokes(had to pass), jokes, and conspiracy theories inside the crowd.

thanks to BP for RUINING the Gulf of Mexico, because of which myself and many of my neighbors have upper respiratory infections...things the AP and EPA dont tell you... you can smell oil all around southern louisanna and if you can smell it, you are too close. had it not been for the saturday PJ show i would have evacuated my home days earlier.

"Send your kids down to these beaches and clean up your mess" ed
end rant.

really glad to have made it, it was a breathe of fresh air : )

Was great to see the convergence of several of my most favorite things. My girlfriend asked me if I was ok because I was sitting on our blanket which was all the way at the back of the lawn. She thought that because I wasn't standing like most everyone else that I was bothered by not being closer. Since she had never been with me to a concert before she had no way of knowing that all I need is to hear the band and that I'm perfectly comfortable just sitting and listening. I answered her by saying that I'm with my favorite girl in my favorite city with my favorite band and that I wished I could freeze the time. Then she sat with me for the rest of the show and learned a different way to experience live music.

About 45 minutes after the show I noticed a small crowd gathering behind the main stage and I stuck around to see if I might get a glimpse of the band. Not only did that happen, but Eddie greeted the crowd, shook hands with people, answered questions and was overall the affable, humble and generous person that we all hope he is. I got a few great photos as well.

2 hours later I was engaged...

It was a great show, diverse set list and ending with Kick out the Jams was an unexpected treat. It made me realize how spoiled we are with the length and depth of a typical PJ performance. Saturday's was not as long as we're used to, but a quality experience given the venue and what typically happens there since most Jazzfest performances don't last much past an hour. Would love to see them again in New Orleans and would travel from my hometown of Chicago in a heartbeat.

Thanks to God for women, New Orleans and Pearl Jam!

Excellent Show! I really enjoyed getting to hear so many songs I hadn't heard live before. In addition, seeing the troops listening in was awesome too. Such a nice thing to do.

After a rough start to the year, seeing you guys after your last New Orleans show in 2003 was so awesome. Even though I did not get as close to the stage as I wanted, I loved every minute.

Thanks guys for all you do and for sharing such awesome sounds with all of us. I guess I will have to start traveling to see you guys since this last visit was the second in 7 years, but well worth the wait.

I did get the sensations that the crowd was not as enthusiastic as some other venues' crowds (listening to bootlegs/videos), but I know I am a die hard Pj fan, not from the beginning of Pj but from the first time I heard songs from Yield. I have been hooked ever since. I definitely lost my voice for a short time from celebrating the musical vibes of Pj.

As a side note (story) -
A dog with no name.
After a few days of this beautiful black labrador retriever not having a name, I was driving in my truck with her on an enormous blanket in the passenger seat. I had Ten in the CD player and soon after Evenflow began, and those musical vibrations began bouncing off of every particle in the truck, I was still able to hear the little snoring coming from the passenger seat.
I thought to myself at that moment that she could have no other name, but Pearl.
Oh, how I miss her still to this day.

Anyways,

I LOVED THE SHOW IN NEW ORLEANS!!!!!!!
AND KUDOS TO OUR MILITARY FOR ALL THEY DO FOR US!!!
COME HOME SOON AND SAFE!!!!
