This is the show whose set list Eddie and Cameron are looking at in the PJ20 DVD extras. Looks like "Got Some" was going to close out the main set, but was not played.
Side note: The Black Keys really need to open up for them for a longer stretch. They really brought it this night.
This show was my 30th show... and 10c gave me the best gift of all... LOTTERY TICKETS!! 2nd Row on the floor in front of Mike! WHAT A FUCKING TREAT!!! A show that my friend and I will NEVER forget... Pearl Jam brings their A-game every night and this one was certainly no exception... Keep on rocking in the free world boys!!
I had an amazing time at this Garden show. There's nothing better than getting to enjoy your favorite band with your friends. The crowd was so into it and the place was rocking. I was never really that into Do the Evolution, but after hearing them play it live and seeing everyone in the crowd so raucous and singing along I had a change of heart. Can't wait til they come back to the area so we can all see them again.
I'm still in awe over this show. I flew in from Wa state to NY to see PJ. I wanted to see them at the most famous arena in the world. Amazing show - loved NY. I'm hooked and will be back. I have to say, living near Seattle, I do get to go to their home shows and something very special about playing to your home audience. They all still live here, that in itself says a lot. But the NY show was an incredible venue and incredible fans, second to none!!!! NY was everything I could ever imagine. Seeing PJ and Christopher Walkin in NY was an experience of a lifetime. I'll make the trip again next time PJ plays MSG. And I would suggest you come to the Key Arena or better yet the Gorge(the most beautiful outdoor arena I've ever seen) when they play Seattle.
I think the garden show you're referring to was on 7/8/03. After evolution Ed mentioned that the stage had only shook like that for 3 other bands; the dead, maiden and springteen then he said now that we know its safe we should do it again..I didnt pick up on the heaven and hell tag until i heard the bootleg..thanks
My 12th show. Lollapalooza 1992 were my firsties. I had a blast. And am I the only one who knows Mike tagged "Porch" with the main lick from "Heaven and Hell" by Black Sabbath? A cool tribute to Ronnie James Dio, another of my heroes. When I saw them at their FIRST Garden show, 09/10/98, Ed told the crowd that Garden officials informed them during an encore that the place hadn't shook that hard since Iron Maiden played there. Mike replied by playing "Number of The Beast" for a bar or two. McCready RULES!
This was my second time seeing the band. After blowing me away at the Spectrum 1 for my first show, they had a lot to live up to in my eyes, but I knew they wouldn't disappoint. It would be impossible. And they didn't, going on to perform the best show I've ever seen. Sadly, I couldn't make MSG 2, which, from the reviews, took the Garden down. That isn't to say the first night didn't either. I left MSG in awe. I left vowing never to miss them in town ever, ever again. Thank you, PJ, for making May 20, 2010 a night I will never forget.
Personal favorites--Once into Porch to close the 1st encore was the highlight for me. I'm also very fortunate to have heard the mighty Leash twice. And I LOVED getting Breakerfall, a rarity these days!
Let me say this.I went to this superlative monumental show.Love Reign O'er Me was insane.I still dont have my voice back from May 20th.TY guys.Amazing show to relive with the boot.TY.State Of Love AND Trust.
thursday rocked from begining to end , best crowd yet . mike rocked ,eddie voice was right on and drums are still pounding at my senses . was hopeing thursdays show would beat friday but i heard both were fantastic .thanks pj
reading all your comments is so bittersweet
....i can just imagine how incredible it was.....i got screwed out of my tickets....both nights...went to the garden and waited on line for 4 hours to see if they would release any x-tra tixx, and not 1 ticket was released...oh ya that hurt!!! glad u all had a blast~ :)
MIKE MCcREADY AND MATT CAMERON...I DONT KNOW HOW YOU DIDNT PASS OUT DURING THE SHOW AT MSG NYC. YOU BOTH ARE SUPER HUMANS im still ringing and soar it's tough being a fan....AND WE AINT GETTING ANY YOUNGER!
If anyone was sitting in Section 67 for MSG #1 and has a picture of Eddie wearing Red Sox hat towards the end of the show can you please email it to me at candue@gmail.com? It's my hat that I threw at him & he subsequently caught, put on and threw down on the stage before going back to sing. Got the hat back from a roadie after the show ended. A picture would be nice. Thanks in advance.
I was blown away by the first 5 songs, such energy. And very eclectic: Sometimes, Breakerfall, Last Exit, Animal and The Fixer. They were recharged after what some are saying a lackluster crowd in Newark (I wasnt there, but a buddy of mine said he had a blast). This is also the first time my buddy Brian got to see PJ and the first time I got floor seats(section 8 to the left of the soundboard). It was so incredibly loud on the floor, im used to being in sec 120 something. I seem to be geting closer every tour so thanks so much 10C. And u know I damn near lost my mind when they played I Got Shit!!! And Jeremy into Leash was a great 1-2 in the 2nd encore. I know MSG 2 is gonna be bananas, i hope they really shake the stage tonite. I was surprised that there was no Corduroy or Daughter, but coulda did without Small Town and Indifference. Love that song but I rarely get to see them close with Ledbetter. But im so not complaining
Awesome epic show last night. Only complaint - the microphone sucked! I could barely here EV all night - I was in the 227 section. Anyone else have an issue with EV's mic? Or are my ears just completely f'd?
Came all the way from Michigan for this epic show. Fans were great! Special feeling just being in the Garden. I kept asking myself if they were gonna keep kicking out the jams last night. Lucky to get my 10c seats and cant wait for tonight. The question is, "Is there anyway they can top it?"
Amazing show last night, the boys brought it....they were on FIRE!! Love was incredible..as was Sometimes, Leash... thank-you, thank-you, thank-you : ) Did we shake the stage for Evolution???
Last night's show was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!! But tonight's show is going to be EVEN BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Stoke Comics Team will be handing out free comic books before the show at MSG!!!!!!!!!
Hello,
I was shut out of the fan club presale for tonight's show. does anyone have a single they are looking to unload? Much appreciated. levisjack@ymail.com
I just wanted to say thank you for an amazing show last night. It brought me and my friends back to our youth! I saw 2 shows this week and I still can't get enough. Come back soon. :)
It really does depend on where you sit sometimes to have a great experience or not in regards to the crowd being into it. If you are a "jumper" with the music and there are others in the same around you, it's a freakin blast. Otherwise, it could seem dull. "It's. All. About. The. Music."
Last night's show at the Garden was incredible! The crowd was juiced up and they blew the roof off the place! Looking forward to the show tonight - see you there!
Crowd was amazing.I was in section 344.I had floor seats from 10c for the Newark gig,but this shows crowd was very, very loud and better than Newark. There is always a different feel,a buzz in the air ,when you see a band at MSG.EV even said..."this is worlds most famous arena".Its is for a reason. The fans.Love Reign,Jeremy,Once and of course Indifference were standouts.
Hey to all the lucky ones!! I know - I know--- this is for the fan views- just let me say thanks for posting your fan views the show looks frkn incredible!! A shout out to Mary & Bill from The Hawaiian Islands!! Tonight's show....I can't imagine how awesome tonights show will be!! Have fun you lucky bastards!!
xoxoxoxox
it varies.. when they came to MSG in 2008 i was in sec87. i wasn't expecting to get on the floor last night, but wound up in sec11 rowB.. right by the soundboard area. my 10c is 281xxx.
i can't really complain about the 10c seats for any of the shows i've been to, but i agree with you.. partial view for a fan club memeber isn't cool.
To clarify...
I didn't get 10C seats last night. I was in Ticketmaster seats in 347... back with the non-die hards and non-10C members (with the exception of the dude that posted below who was in 345 apparently). What I am saying is the crowd AROUND ME sucked. Hence my other note of being excited to be with the "family" tonight and not with the riff raff at the back...
Not to mention I had 2 chatty cathys next to me and a couple that was making out like they were in the back of a movie theater on their first date in front of me.
I repeat: crowd AROUND me sucked. Can't wait to have seats tonight with people (like yourselves) that are as excited (nee, thankful) as I am to be there... at least excited enough to not update my FB status.
Why are (all of) you defending the pricks that hop on their phones during a show?
Aside from that, I have to say that the opening 5 songs was the best opening I had seen in a while. Holy god they came out of the gate swinging. Awesome.
It was beyond an incredible moment in time for me last night. THANK YOU PJ for your gifts, talent and music. Last night was the 1st time I have seen you live after being a fan for the last 13 years or so. AMAZING. The best concert I have ever been to. Hoping to see if I can see tonight's show as well. You rock and I am at lost for words!!!!!
Shady, what were you smoking last night? Can I get some of that because obviously you were the most fcked up person in the arena to not realize how awesome the crowd was. You should probably try to play frogger with NYC yellow cabs.
Sorry I have only been to 11 shows not 16 but during the first encore that may have been one of the best quartets ever, love reign into state into once into porch.
Great job everyone - last night was amazing and keep it up for tonight so we can burn this place to the ground...
Phenomenal show. Not sure I've ever seen them open with Sometimes, which was pretty cool. Question for you guys and the 10C though: I had 10C tickets last night and I ended up pretty much behind the stage in section 119. While we were relatively close, the seats were partial view, at best. I understand the lottery is based on senority but even If I was the last member to join I felt like the seats were pretty weak. I don't mean to complain as I love the band and am happy to be at any PJ show, regardless of seats, but it hardly feels like a benefit to be in the tenclub when you get shut out of most pre-sales and when you don't get shut out, your seats are behind the stage. This was around my 10th show with 10C seats (either mine or a friends) and I'm yet to get seats that were worth writing home about. Apologies for the rant but wanted to see any other members have run into this and if the 10C plans to remedy the pres-ale process.
They were great....no one cares about the cell phones. Shady is a bit of a dick. Ill bet the next cell phone he sees he doesn't go into the crowd. He is all talk, he won't do or say a thing to anyone about the phones. SO STOP IT.
I was down in 109 and the crowd was on fire! Amazing energy and what a great show. I have been lucky enough to see them everytime they have been through MSG and they bring the house down everytime! Alive was crazy! Can't wait for tonight and see you in Dublin.
Cheers
Couldn't disagree with Shadyshall more. I was up in 345 and everyone was rocking out. Great energy, great show, dancing all night so wouldn't have even noticed someone on their cell phone. Think this was the 3rd best show I've seen from them behind Philly 10/31/09 and MSG in 2008. State of Love and Trust and Crazy Mary were both off the hook. Can't wait for tonight.
Pearl Jam was great. Always bring their A-game. Last night was my 16th show and it was by far the WORST in terms of the crowd. YOU FUCKING DOUCHEBAGS -- PUT THE GOD DAMN CELL PHONES AWAY!! THIS IS FUCKING PEARL JAM!!! You don't need to check your god damn email or Facebook or look at pictures of your ugly kid - and your camera phone will not get a good picture of the stage so stop trying. The glaring white light is a distraction, it's annoying and it ruins the show for those behind you. The next cell phone I see out during the show, I am throwing into the crowd.
But I guess this is what happens when you have to sit with the riff raff cause the 10C servers are weak. 10Club tickets for tonight though and I can't wait to be with "the family" instead of the goons!!
last night was my 15th show and it might have been the best one ive been to..the band was sizzling, the crowd was going nuts, the setlist was great...insane night!!!!!! drop the leash!! drop the leash!!!
Can't wait for tonight, first time seeing PJ at the Garden, first time seeing a show at the Garden. I attempted to get to the Newark show on a spur of the moment type thing Tuesday. My car broke down 23 miles away from Newark on route 78 E and I missed the show. So I couldn't be more excited about the show tonight! Taking the bus from Allentown, hopefully public trans don't fail me. Have a good show tonight.
Pearl Jam brings it again. I cannot wait for tonight. 3rd show this week. Started in Hartford. Hartford was the best so far. However, I think tonight is going to bring down the Garden. I am always amazed by the energy from Alive. See you at the show tonight.

I just got my bootleg cd from the show and was able to re-live it again the other night! I am sure that I will re-live it over and over again.

The show at MSG NIGHT 1 was the biggest foot stompin sing-along ive ever been to.
AND YES ..... THE FLOOR WAS SHAKING LIKE A 2.0

Insignificance, SLOT were awesome. There is no such thing as a bad Pearl Jam show. My seats were great. Sec 106.
Best. Band. Ever.
I was at both MSG shows. The crowd was great for both - but really nothing can touch the Friday show.
that said - Eddie sang so well. I mean, he always is "on" but he was just so soulful and into it and it came through big time.
Maybe the 5/20 show wasn't as epic at Friday - but it was a great night.
If anyone was sitting in Section 67 for MSG #1 and has a picture of Eddie wearing Red Sox hat towards the end of the show can you please email it to me at candue@gmail.com? Anyone know when they'll be available? After that amazing night, I want to relive it over and over.
Pistol, I couldn't have said it better myself! It's All. About. The. Music"
Log Live PJ!
I WAS ASSIGNED 11 ROW FLOOR SEATS, MY FEET STILL HURT. WHAT GREAT FANS PJ HAS. WE DANCED AND SUNG EVERY SONG AT THE TOP OF OUR LUNGS FOR ALL 33 SONGS.
I was on the floor and Eds mic sounded damn fine, it was sooo loud compared to sitting up a level or two.
I was blown away by the first 5 songs, such energy. And very eclectic: Sometimes, Breakerfall, Last Exit, Animal and The Fixer.
