Yesterdays, how quick they change
All lost and long gone now
It's hard to remember any thing
Moving at the speed of sound
Moving with the speed of sound
And yet I’m still holding tight
To this dream of distant light
And that somehow I’ll survive
But this night has been a long one
Waiting on a sun,.. that just don’t come
Can I forgive what I
Cannot forget
And live a lie
I could give it one more try
Why deny this drive inside?
Just looking for some peace
Everytime I get me some
It gets the best of me
Not much left you see
And yet I’m still holding tight
to this dream of distant light
and that somehow I’ll survive
But this night has been a long one
Waiting on a word,.. that never comes
A whisper in the dark
Is that you or just my thoughts?
Wide awake & reaching out
It’s gone so quiet now
Could it be I’m farther out?
Moving faster than the speed of sound

I've only heard the Eddie demo version but this is a fuckin' beautiful song.
I cannot wait to hear the whole album. I'm expecting big things!
The lyric doesn't sound like "Why did I just drive inside just looking for some keys?", but "Why deny this drive inside just looking for some peace."
Can't wait to hear it live, such an uplifting and beautiful song, yet melancholy and somber at the same time. I think it is one of their best.
this song is simply amazing. their most beautiful song to date.
~ This is my Song ~ <3
It was great at Hartford. Loved hearing it that night.
The demo is better than the album version IMO. It's still kinda puny and not my favorite. There's just something about the swingy 3/4 drum part in the album version that detracts from it. It's just one of those looking back at life songs.
This is a great lyrical..."It's hard to remember any thing
Moving at the speed of sound..." ...life gets more complicated as you get older and busier with the demands and opportunities that present themselves; yet we keep moving forward regardless of the lack of gigabyte storage. of course there is more to this simple yet complex song than just this, but that second verse/paragraph is good foreshadowing into the rest of this story. Look forward to many more songs of sustenance such as this.
