If you listen to the song and follow these lyrics I don't think it's very accurate.

Yeh. Lyrics are sketchy in few spots. This is the best I can do with the last "Precipitation" verse. This reads a lot better (IMO) though if you want to copy and paste something to send to a friend or something:

Make Love (and Music) Not War

Lolz - just noticed the BS lyrics in the CD sleeve contain the correct lyrics and it's "puddle full of detriment".

The make love not war comment pretty accurately sums up the song; however, I will say that I think it's more about a war that sometimes takes place within relationships w respect to sex. As a middle aged guy in a relationship who's Got Some and Gets Some like it's my job, I recognize an epidemic amongst married couples. The ones that aren't having sex(and believe me it's more than you can imagine); they're fooling themselves if they believe that is a successful relationship IMO.

Now that I'm thinking about that corrected line "puddle full of detriment". I have to ask myself if it's the legal version: a giving up of a thing or mode of conduct to which one is entitled...interesting

I have it down as 'Are you a puddle full of detriment....yeah!'

Or something with puddle in it, which would add up with the whole precipitation theme I guess!

another great jeff ament song, he doesnt write that much songs anymore but when he does they are just mind blowing.
