This song is absolutely AMAZING...along with the rest of the record...can't wait to hear it TONIGHT and TOMORROW NIGHT at the Key in Seattle! Been waiting for this day since July 2006...
Seems like this song might have grown out of the Icons show Ed did with Laird Hamilton...I remember Laird talking about how anger/rage fuels you when you're young, but then you become confused when you try to move on with your passion (surfing, singing) after you realize you're happy...great lyrics in this one.

That was more or less what I thought when I heard it. Making Peace with everything in life, wether it was good or bad. accept it and embrace it.
I beg of you to play this on oct. 1st. This is one of my fav. songs on the new record. And Just Breathe, I want to recommend it to my girlfriend; it's our 3 year anniversary on Oct. 2nd.

Singles for Backspacer should be: The Fixer, Supersonic, Amongst the Waves, Just Breathe, Got Some and Unthought Known. Waves and Breathe are my favourites. Lucky for me I heard them both when I saw them!
Powerful ending. Anyone else interpret Ed's last two notes as a tribute to MJ? :-)
Perhaps it should be "It's rare when there is nothing wrong"? I think maybe the 't' and the 'w' got juxtaposed.
