This was my first Pearl Jam show, and I still have very fond memories to this day. I guess I didn't even notice that Ed was sick, which shows how professional he and the band really is. I was definitely jealous of "Michael from Fargo" as he got to take the band through Lukin. Out of all my live shows, I go back to this one the most to listen to. Definitely not their finest set, but there's something to be said for seeing Pearl Jam live and having that connection.

I thought it was an awesome show. Wasnt that impressed with the Fargo show the night before so me and my friends made the trip to the cities on whim and were not disappointed.

Row 2. Thanks 10C. Ed was sick the whole show but he's a pro and he gave off lots of energy. I'm pretty sure this was the first (and only?) time PJ has ever had a crowd member sign a song w/the band.

Best version of Black I've ever heard. Of the Girl was a beautiful way to start.

Ed was noticeably sick the whole show, and you can hear it almost every song, but he and the band still put forth a good effort. Nice to have my favorite Pearl Jam song Of The Girl open my hometown show. It was my first time hearing Immortality. Mike sustains the first note in his solo and, for its simplicity, it was beautiful in its own way. Driven To Tears was a highlight for me, even if Ed stumbled a bit at the beginning. Black was an interesting choice for set closer, but it worked.

Bu$hleaguer was a given in Minnesota, and I'm glad they played it. Someone threw up a Wellstone sticker that Jeff stuck on his bass, and I'm pretty sure you can still see it on there today. A fan or fans up front were screaming for Lukin, which obvously Ed would have had a hard time with. Ed asked a fan if he knew the words and next thing you know "Michael from Fargo" is on stage "singing" Lukin to 16,000 people. Many of those 16,000 were envious, I am sure.

To date this show is the only time I've heard Ghost, Thin Air and Bushleaguer, and I'll guess that I'm unlikely to hear them again. All in all a solid show with a few highlights. Ed being sick was probably the biggest factor that kept this from being listed among the top 03 shows, but I'd say the majority of the midwest run gets overlooked in favor of the usual suspects.

Pearl Jam came back in 06 opening for Tom Petty (and also their 3-song Target meeting performance in early 10), so they are long overdue for a headline show here. Make it happen, Pearl Jam.
