I was a sophmore in highschool when I got to see pearl jam for the first time. I had never been to a concert before and it changed my whole life. I remember this concert like it was yesterday and what a great first concert to experience. How many people can say that they stil love the same music as they did when they were a teenager. I remember all through out highschool listening to pearl jam on my walkman and now I am driving around with two kids listening to them stil. Now how cool is that?!
Not my first PJ show, but awesome. I remember ED huddling by the PA when Neil played Rockin in the Free World. One of the best hows, but I've always been mixed about it since I sold my Nirvana tickets for their Portland In Utero show, as I couldn't afford both shows, and figured two bands (Neil &PJ) were more important than one. In this one case I was wrong about that. I got to see Nirvana the year before ( coincidentally at the same track!), but have lways been bummed I missed their last tour.
My first PJ show as well. I remeber Eddie making a comment that R.E.M.'s Man on the Moon should have won best video at MTV VMA's instead of Jeremy. Crazy good show!!!
This was my first PJ show too!!! It was a so Awesome!!! A week or so earlier Lollapalooza played at the same place! It was Alice in Chains, Rage Against the Machine, Primus, Dinosaur Jr, Fishbone, Arrested Development, Babes in Toyland and a unknown band at the side stage who ROCKED! It was Tool!! I had a few beers in the beer garden with Timothy Leary and we talked about life. This was a great concert the best I had been to in my life, Until, the following week, Pearl Jam played!!!! That is all it took, the best concert I have ever been to. And PJ concerts continue to be the best concerts I've ever been to!!
My first PJ show, Blind Melon opened then PJ then Neil Young, ,made to the front of the stage through an amazing mosh pit. It was a beautiful Oregon day.....The pics from this show ended up in Time magazine a few weeks later with Ed on the cover, I was standing in line at a supermarket when I saw them.....
