Just saw Pearl Jam 20 and it got me thinking about this concert. My first as well. Sneaking out of work (CBC) to get wrist bands and then lining up for tickets. Ended up in the two seats furthest from the stage but it didn't matter. Show was amazing. Thanks.
Also my first show...hard to believe it is my 15 year anniversary seeing the boys live this year, as awesome as ever and love them even more. I will never forget the first notes of Release at Maple Leaf Gardens that night and have to admit I had tears...so great to have seen them there before it closed its doors...Lollapalooza 92 was supposed to be my first show...was so disappointed when I couldn't go but in retrospect I am so happy this was my first PJ concert.
This was my first PJ show with many more to come. I was lucky as I was first to get a wrist band and getting floors made it worth the few days of having to wear that thing. Like a previous post I too was excited to be able to touch the ice. It was a great show. Thanks.
1st PJ show of five for me. So many of us (fans) had been waiting years for them to come back to Canada and to see them at a classic venue like Mapleleaf Gardens i will never forget it.
1st PJ show for me as well. It was me and my friend Dave. He got the tix through 10C and we drove from Jersey to Toronto - we made no reservations -
Watched them on Letterman from the hotel above Maple Leaf Gardens and the next day planted ourselves in the right up against the stage. The crowd was wild - nice big hole in the floor at the end of the show straight through to the ice.
1st PJ show - Release opener no less and got to touch the ice in one of the greatest hockey houses ever built.
