not to sell, not to trade... just to re-live a few moments of a perfect weekend with friends, family and other fans. This was the Blind Melon, Pearl Jam, Niel Young show, and it was amazing. So much different than the ampitheatre at Seattle Center. I think it was this show that made the people at the Gorge realize they needed to step up on security before somebody got hurt. There was no stopping the surges of people who wanted to get to the pit. I managed to find my way to the front for about 3 songs, then I was picked up and thrown over the barrier. After that, I found a rock to sit on which was located somewhere near the sound board. I was soaking wet from the hoses and the sweat. It had been a hot day.
I never knew to that day how good Blind Melon was. All I had heard was the Bee Song... I had no idea they rocked so hard. Spent some time with Shannon later in life. Glad I had the opportunity to meet him prior to his departure. I think of him often.
The show was great. Changed my way of thinking for a while. Eddie took time to enjoy the sunset that night. It was gorgeous.
I would love to get some footage with good audio from the show. Just for memories.
This was a great performance, and the first time I had the opportunity to see Pearl Jam perform. I wish there was a way I could watch some legitimate videos of this concert, that the band would approve of. I have seen Pearl Jam perform their great musical art four times, and each was an incredible performance. I am grateful to this band for diverse selection of great music over the years. If I want to rock, then there are songs like Whipping, etc., and if I want some quality mellow sounds, then there are songs like Red Mosquito and Man of the Hour, etcetera. By the way, the way Red Mosquito opens with a guitar solo is fucking righteous. Every member of this band is a very gifted musical artist. Thanks guys for your music and also your presence.
