And yes, I will be returning for round two on Sept 19th. More than a little excited to see what the boys bring to the table this time. I think everyone's hoping for those precious first two rows, Synergy. May luck be on all of our sides ;) See you there!
This show was a dream come true for me. I never thought that the band would play my hometown but of course always secretly wished they would. I had grown accustomed to travelling abroad to see the band play so needless to say, when they finally showed up it was oh so sweet.
The band seemed a little weary at first but the crowd, which I was a little worried about, came out swinging and definitely did NOT disappoint. From the 4th row I could see the band's expressions and was thrilled at the look of surprise in their eyes. You could tell as they grinned to each other on stage that they realized Saskatoon wasn't to be underestimated. In this single moment my steadfast loyalty to the band came full circle and I was immensely proud.
From early on the show felt different. The band loosened up quickly and Eddie commented on the "magical sounding name" of our town. By the end he was propping himself up in the first few rows for call and answer sing-a-longs and power sliding across the stage. It was truly epic. The clincher was when the band came out for their first encore, after taking a little longer than usual backstage to learn their next song, only to break into "Running Back to Saskatoon" by The Guess Who. An amazing gesture to the fans and to our city to help cap off one of the most legendary shows in its history.
And to think that two nights before, in Edmonton, Eddie asked the crowd whether we even had electricity in Saskatoon. Pfft. Silly Eddie. Clearly we have much more than that.
Agreed MeanJean!
Can't believe it will be almost 6 years to the date before you guys will return to Saskatoon!
Hoping for first row! (FINGERS CROSSED) Will see you soon!
