Awesome show. Only my second time seeing them live and they rocked it out. Was really nice to see them in my hometown. 2 thumbs up to all the guys.

I didn't hear a lot of the booing and I am a Southern Republican in nature.

Opening act:
Kings of Leon

I too saw this unbelieveable show. My aunt, who's also a big Pearl Jam fan, and I drove from NC to see them. I'm jealous I wasn't close enough to feel any of Ed's perspiration, but it was awesome, none-the-less. We saw them again the next night in Virginia Beach. They rock and I can't wait till their next tour!

Stayed with my girl 3 years in the US. We married over there.
We've seen in total 9 shows in the US.
Five of them during the east coast tour. We followed the band from the south to the north. Was something like a "good bye" tour cause we went back home (Chile & Germany) in August.
Columbia: second row, in the middle (won the lottery!)
What can I say?!? Great! Amazing show. Nice to smell Ed's perspiration.
Who was the girl with the banner in her hands wishing "footsteps"?

This was my fifth Pearl Jam show, and they just keep getting better and better, as do my seats. (Gotta love seniority!) We were on our way to the beach in North Carolina, but we postponed the trip a bit in order to make this show.

I have to agree with the comment about getting chills from just thinking about the crowd singing along. All the little hairs on my back and legs and arms stand up whenever I even think about a show. I've never been so excited to see a band before. They'll always be my #1, the one I'll always see (at least once) whenever they tour on the east coast.

One caveat, though: When Ed started on some tirades about Republicans and politics and Southerners, the crowd did a lot of "boo-ing," and it was interesting to note how that was edited out of the show's bootleg. I love Pearl Jam to death, but I can live without the insults and preaching, as can, I'm sure, many, many other fans. I'm not a Republican, but I'm not a Democrat, either, and I'd enjoy the shows a lot better if he saved his political beliefs for a rally, not a concert. They're awesome musicians, and I'd rather hear more music in the place of opinion.

When you say they edited out parts of the boot because of Ed's remarks and booing, which parts? Seems like the only two booing crowd reaction parts I can remember are when he cracks the joke about the Gamecocks and after Education when he asks the question about reading the remark in the Free Times about Southern Conservatives. I don't remember that being edited out, but of course I checking as I type this;)

totally agree with ya. thought it would be tought to follow up bonnaroos performance but of course they came through again.

well not totally agree
i thought betterman bonnaroo was better:)
but now were splittin hairs!

Sounds like an amazing show by the way you describe it. The energy at Pearl Jam shows are like nothing else..

WOW!!! That's how I sum up this show. Of all the times I've seen Pearl Jam, this was my second favorite show. First of all, it was in a really cool, small, compact hockey arena. It was the best I have ever heard a crowd sing at a show. It was spine chilling. In fact, going into the chorus of "Why Go", Eddie stopped singing because he was, literally blown away at how loud we were. The audience was very educated in the ways of Pearl Jam. EVERYONE knew all the songs, even the B-sides, it was amazing. The set list was incredible. Maybe, for me, if it had 1 or 2 specific songs in the set, it would have been my perfect set list. Regardless, I rocked my ass off. The energy in the building could be literally felt, like you could wipe it away from you face. Ed made it known, many time througout the show that they could feel this energy on the stage. Listen to "Betterman" on this show's bootleg. By far, the best version of that song I have ever heard or been a part of. The audience sings have the song without Ed. I still get goose-bumps when I think about it. Mad props and thanx go out to Kendall and my traveling companion H-Dot.

The fans were booing the Southern Conservatives Ed was talking about not booing Ed. The crowd booed Bush, I know I was there. They weren't booing Ed they were booing Bush because I was one of them and the people around me started booing and screaming Fuck Bush. No one was booing Pearl Jam. And every laughed when he made the game cock reference about Bush. And everyone around me was not from South Carolina a ton of people from Atlanta and North Carolina.

You tell em, Scott....strangely for south carolina, i don't remember hearing any booing during those remarks either.... maybe it was in his head.
