DAMN THATS AWESOME!!! Most likely they'll play Just Breathe. But i hope that if they play anything from Backspacer that it will be Gonna See My Friend, Got Some, or any other awesome PJ song that whoops ass. Can't wait for March 13th! The soundmixer better not mess up though, like freakin other times on SNL

20 years worth of music. They blew the roof off SNL back in 92 with ALIVE. I wish the band would show off their 20 years worth of family and employees that backed them up all these years. BRING THE DOG TO! I CANT WAIT.

Talk to your buddy who works for NBC and pray he knows somebody :)

OH yeah

very cool!

Why not a new song from the forthcoming ep????

what forthcoming ep?

maybe some east coast shows?????

GONNA SEE MY FRIEND? AND THERE GONNA KICK SOME ASS:) ROCK ON PJ

Bad Ass!!! Another performance to add to my PJ SNL collection that ive got going on :) Im thinking that they will play the fixer and just breath but i would like to see them play unthought unknown or got some! but my fav SNL performance would have to be not for you (i think vedder was f-ed up lol) and Daughter cause jeff played on that bad ass original old style bass so sweet.. cant wait to see what they bring on the 13th

JUST BREATHE!!! Hopefully, or Force of Nature

PJ is the sh*t I hope they totally bring it. I can always hope for my favs that night but whatever they sing we know they'll deliver. Rock on - good luck - they got some - and we all need it:)

Fantastic! hopefully they will play unthought known or amongst the waves, to be honest I love the whole album so it would not matter ; can't wait.

maybe they will play a ten club show in NYC

AK485 - You mean a show just for 10 clubbers That would be quite an historic, monumental, awesome event of a lifetime:)

my pants are already down, yay

Go to nbc.com...it say's you can go on the morning of the show 7 am? to pick up FREE stand by tix........no promise you get in but still.......

I got a audio copy from the austin city limits show and I LISTEN TO IT EVERY DAMN DAY..............JUST THE BEST...........................

OF COURSE I AM SPEAKING OF THE ACL TV SHOW FROM 10/3/09..........

yes we need a nyc club show.......
PJ PICKS 1,500 LUCKY 10C MEMBERS..
WINNERS GET 2 TIX..........................
BUT MUST DONATE 100. PER TICKET TO HAITI FUND......
PJ RAISES $300,000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WHO IS WITH ME???????????????????
3,000 SEATS? THE THEATRE AT MSG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm totally with — honor army rangers with this one. I'm in, if only our prayers are answered. Always a beautiful time in the Garden.

cant wait

SWEET!!!!!! Cant freakin wait!! I wouldnt mind Just Breathe but i wanna hear some ROCK!! The ACL show opened with Just Breathe & it'd be nice to hear something else off the album... Not that i dont like it... Maybe Got Some & something they dont play much?? Just my opinion.. How about Bugs again like Halloween Philly 2009!!?? Yea right!

I hope they play Unthought Known or Just Breathe or Amongst the Waves... Though you are right, Just Breathe was the first song played on the broadcast... PJ actually played a couple of songs before Just Breathe but were not aired. I would really hope they release that whole show cuz it was amazing... there's at least another hour of tape they didn't put in the TV show broadcast.

I'm all for a benefit show. That is great idea. I'd pay at least $100 a ticket. Tenclub get word to PJ.

Saw my first fan club show at the MSG theater in the early 90's.

WHY AM I A TEN CLUB MEMBER? PEARL JAM:) IS THE MOST ENERGETIC, INFLUENTIAL, DIVERSE, SELF CHALLENGING, CHARISMATIC, DEVOTED, CHARITABLE, EVOLUTIONARY, ENVIRONMENTAL, AND LEGENDARY BAND. I BELIEVE MUSIC BRINGS YOUR SOUL TO LIFE. I'M SURE THERE'S GOOD MUSIC OUT THERE BESIDES BUT PEARL JAM HAS BEEN THE LIGHT AT THE END OF MANY TUNNELS. THEIR MUSIC HAS CAPTIVATED ME FOR YEARS. THROUGH ALL OF MY LIFE'S CHALLENGES THEIR MUSIC HAS HELPED MY INSPIRATION SOAR TO PLACES HIGHER THAN EVEN DREAM'S COULD REACH. THROUGH YOUTH, LOVE AND FAMILY PEARL JAM IS THE ONE BAND THAT WE WILL FOLLOW FAITHFULLY THROUGH THE MANY YEARS TO COME. THANK YOU FOR BEING THERE FOR YOUR FANS AND KNOW THROUGH IT ALL YOUR FANS WILL ALWAYS BE THERE FOR YOU. GOOD LUCK ON SNL AND IN 2010. IF THERE WAS A SHOW FOR TEN CLUB MEMBERS WE WOULD PAY EASILY $100.00+ FOR TICKETS FOR THE RELIEF EFFORTS OF HAITI, SUPPORT FOR OUR SOLDIERS, AND OF COURSE FOR THE BAND. YOUR BIGGEST FANS JOHN, SHAWNA AND THE BOYS:)

The show that never happened; The Beacon. 2500 seats=3 million $$$$
why would they be happy raising $300,000 when they know what they can really pull in. That wouldn't be a charity event for Haiti, but it would be for the 10c.

Come to Buffalo. Only 6 hours from SNL. You haven't been
here since 03. 55 minute flight.

IT'S THE THOUGHTS, PERCEPTIONS, IDEAS THAT CAN TRIGGER INSPIRATION FOR A BETTER CAUSE IN A TIME WHEN CHARITY MAY BE THE ONLY PATH INTO AN AREA THAT IS IN DESPERATE TIMES. IT COULD TAKE JUST ONE BAND - ONE IDEA - TO GENERATE A MOVEMENT FOR A CAUSE THAT COULD CHANGE THE WAY PEOPLE THINK, GIVE AND LIVE IN NOT ONLY OURSELVES BUT IN THE EYES OF THE WORLD. OUR COUNTRY COULD USE A LITTLE POSITIVE ATTENTION......

I don't understand this band at all. They do (for them) a pretty extensive media blitz for the self titled album, but then do a tour that ignores huge portions of the country. They do an East Coast tour for no reason in '08 (by that I mean with no album to support). They do a few dates this summer before the album is released, and then like a dozen west coast dates within a few weeks after the new album is released. Then they do the 4 night stand at The Spectrum. Then they take a nap for about 8 months, waking briefly to play a festival in New Orleans. Now comes word they are playing SNL in a few weeks (ostensibly to promote an album that came out 6 months before and sold a pedestrian amount of copies). It just seems very weird. Seemingly every other band tours right around when they are releasing an album, hits most of the country, and then maybe makes a second (sometimes more) tour around the nation, playing different venues (theatres or outdoor ampitheatres or arenas or stadiums or whatever). But you have this band, a band that is seemingly now known as a preeminent live band, doing this crap.

There must be something wrong, somewhere, with someone.

I hope the guys get into a skit or two, that would be great... have not heard supersonic live yet and it is the song i jam the loudest... fingers crossed... just breathe would be great, though i don't think it gets better than ACL version... same w/johnny guitar

I think they tour however the f#$% they want to. families, projects, etc... kinda their reward for sticking it out through an eight record deal and all kinds of other shtuff. they are their own boss now and f%^&ing good for them.

myself, just thankful they are here. jamming.

I will definitely be tailgating infront of the NBC building to make sure I get tickets for this. If anyone wants to join feel free.

BTW the best streetmeat in the city is only a few blocks from there. Pearl Jam and Chicken/Lamb over rice, it doesn't get much better than that

I second that!!! "you wanna hear/something sick?"

the only way to get tix for SNL is to wait online from the morning of the show; I mean like 5am... And pray you get in. Could be like 12 hrs before you find out

I'm throwing this out there as a somewhat desperate plea from a "freak". How about they announce, the week leading up to their appearance on SNL, a North American 2010 tour? Not the 60 show extravaganza that 2000 was, but you know, 20-25 shows. Chicago for a couple, then their favorite stops. That would be a good way to promote the tour. Though, it seems, they do not really need to promote the tour, as they will sell tix like mad anyway.

Just hoping to start something here.......

Can't wait to see them perform again. I'll take whatever I can get. Love 'em!

Grand Idea I second that thought. 2010 N. American Tour what a great concept.

(With all due respect, Biggest Wave)

They're NOT every other band, that's what makes them endearing and enduring. They can play "it" however they see fit and/or feels right, and IT has worked quite well. (Understatement.)

They're conscious to make it up whenever and wherever some portion of the country (or world) may feel--or actually get--geographically left out. The waiting may be the hardest part for some, but when they show, it makes the moment even more worthwhile and much more authentic. They never steer into overkill and thus--almost twenty years later--along with their faithful can still feel that whenever it is time to tour (or even play a one-and-done show), it was done at the "right" time...

Which leads to those "eight months" or naps or whatever in-between-tour periods mentioned?... They are entitled to live their lives, enjoy the moments in between moments, and let the aforementioned authenticness that encompasses the group marinate, gather and generate new steam for whatever future tour or projects fate and/or the spirit that moves them will lead them to create.

In this day & age it's all seemingly burn out and fade away--they have gotten better. And that's hard to fathom considering they weren't too shabby from moment/nanosecond one!? (Again see: Understatement.)

Their whole formation and foundation was/is predicated on the right time, right place and right fit of a certain San Diegan joining forces with three creative northwest souls laying in wait, but eager to take a new/raw sound to another somewhat unimaginable level. That said, it would only seem natural that their recording and touring patterns thereafter have followed suit along the same unforced and organic paths.

To wrap up...

Whatever IT is, they can play IT whenever and wherever their collective spirit moves them....

Thankfully, IT is still turned up to "Eleven"* for so many to be moved and inspired by.

Cheers,
KK

*Everything at seven and lower cool too, I'm just saying...

(Oh yeah... "Unthought Known" and "Amongst the Waves." But what do I know? I'm just sending my two-cented vibe for two songs that are great representations of what's new and profound in their catalog; and also have all six members providing integral parts to melody's creation... AND, they are two songs that are layered and life-affirming beyond belief for all to benefit--even non-fans. (Whoever those lost souls may be?)

I do know that history is an indicator of the future, and they will MOST LIKELY be given free reign to play three. The show admires them, and for the aformentioned reasons (plus many more), they're still out there to be admired. The question is whether or not those in TV Land will be lucky enough to catch the third song before credits role? In the end, I also know that whatever it or the prior two songs will be is up to six guys far more tuned into the gauge and vibe for the moment than I. I'll just sit back and let fate do its thing once again, and then be inspired... once again.)

johnny guitar should get some play.

There must be something wrong, somewhere, with someone.[/quote I THINK there must be something wrong ,somewhere with someone is U.I think that the way they do their shows is their deal and not yours they have familys and are Veterens of the music world they know how to pace themselves just let them do what they do and be thankful they are still a band. peace eric

PLEASE, please play Amongst The Waves!!!
Seriously, it's a perfect song for SNL... PJ has stood the test of time and I just think this song is a tribute to the fact you are all still together, still here, you have survived the test of time when music is becoming so "trivial".
Just my 2 cents.
Please play Amongst the Waves... honor yourselves.
Peace, Kristen :)

You guys are being too kind ... Biggest Wave is being a douchebag. The first comment after his comment should have been this comment. No reason to write that on a PJ site.

Yeah, you're probably right brutha. I was just moved in the moment by the sheer douchebagotry of it all that I tried to shed a little light on it. (Or a lot, judging by word count?) Anyway, on-point on this SNL topic: I'm starting to feel like we're Gonna See My Friend and get the Unthought Known, on second thought... Where it stops nobody knows!? It won't be long. Buona Sera
