Pearl Jam – the final band to perform at the Spectrum in Philadelphia before it is to be razed next year – has sold out three of their four upcoming concerts at the storied venue. The band will take the stage on Tuesday, October 27th, Wednesday, October 28th, Friday, October 30th and Saturday, October 31st. Social Distortion will be support for the first two shows and Bad Religion will be support for the final two.
Pearl Jam released their ninth studio album, Backspacer, in the US on Sunday, September 20 to rave reviews. Rolling Stone gave Backspacer 4-stars. And the Los Angeles Times said, “The lightness and dexterity of the playing throughout Backspacer, and of Vedder’s hard-driving, often playful vocals, come from Pearl Jam’s members taking this music seriously, honing in and nailing it. It’s proof of what a bunch of grown people can accomplish when they know exactly what they want.”
Tickets are available now for the October 27 performance exclusively through ComcastTIX.com, by calling 1-800-298-4200, in person at the Wachovia Complex box office or select Acme Markets. Tickets are also available at LiveNation.com.

After an 11 year absence, we just saw PJ with Ben Harper and Relentless 7 in SLC and it fucking rocked!! 10 Club - the best fan club in the world - hooked me up with 10th row, center stage seats. Fucking unbelievable. To all those with tix for upcoming shows: you are in for a treat! New Backspacer album is killer!

All I can say is that I ENVY those who will be attending that have never experienced Bad Religion before... only to THEN have your face melted off by PJ. Wouldn't it be great if EV joined BR on stage for Watch It Die and/or Struck A Nerve? Yes, yes it would. I am writing this to the band. I'm going to see 2 PJ shows at the Spectrum. Tuesday and Friday. We were on the tix right away. Then the 10/31 show was announced. No worries - have to take the kids trick or treating. No matter how much Mom loves PJ, going to a concert on Halloween to close out the Spectrum wouldn't fly - we love our Halloween. Anyway, Ed - do you think you could manage to play Red Mosquito at one of these shows?? I know this sounds crazy, but my little one Mia (4 years), it is her favorite Pearl Jam song. You playing this song at the Tuesday or Friday show would take it to a whole different level for me. I only ask b/c I saw you played it in LA. Also, Ed - saw you at The Tower. Life changing event for me. However, from reading other posts, I notice that you seem to make each show personal and meaningful to each audience member. I am truly grateful. I will be attending your shows well into my golden years and at this point, the only thing preventing me from going through a very premature mid life crisis. Love you guys!!

when i picked up my tickets for the Halloween show at the spectrum, i saw a sign posted on the inside of the front door stating that they were filming the show that night;(i wish i would have taken a picture of this posting for proof)...i also had a non-news camera in my face for a moment inside right before PJ played...i don't know if any of this adds up to the rumours of a DVD release of the show, but I'll keep my fingers crossed...
also, i too would love to know when the bootleg of the Philly shows will be available for my listening pleasure!
