Pearl Jam partnered with Forterra (formerly the Cascade Land Conservancy) on environmental preservation for many years. Most recently, Pearl Jam and Forterra partnered to mitigate carbon emissions from the band's 2009 world tour.  This partnership utilizes Forterra's Green City Program to mitigate carbon through the restoration of 33 acres of urban forests in Seattle, Kent, Kirkland and Redmond.  
 
Forterra invites you to join in three upcoming events that will kick off several volunteer projects to take place with this partnership:
 
1) Saturday, January 21 at Northeast Redmond Park at 2pm
2) Saturday, February 4 at Lake Fenwick Park in Kent at 10am
3) Saturday, February 11 at Crestwoods Park in Kirkland at 10am
 
 
Crews have been out working hard to remove all of the invasive plants at parks- and now they are ready for some extra hands to help in planting native trees and shrubs.  Dress for the weather and come prepared to get your hands dirty.  Long pants and sleeves, sturdy shoes and a water bottle are highly recommended.  Coffee and snacks will be provided.
