Loved the song. Kind of like when avacado came out we got a taste of gone from AC show in '05 but they held the album for months afterward.(yeah I know the went into the studio after the tour was over) They had to have some of the material likely in the can before the tour. It is so worth the wait to have the new album day like a grown up version of christmas morning. Sept can't get here fast enough. At least I got 2 nights of Eddie next week to tide me over.

I DVR'd this and watched it about 10 times last night. Totally agree this is going to be a great hit song for them. They shredded the new stage at the Tonight Show. Way to break it in guys. Way better audio on the web versions I've listened to today. This song is going to kill when it hits in a full live set. Can't wait.

Great Rocking Tune!! Matts drums and Mikes guitar work is off the hook. Its punchy and hooky at the same time. Very catching song. If this is an example of Backspacer, we are in for a real ass kicking treat. Just release the thing today, Cmon....please? The boys still have it and after close to 20 years, they still surprise me. It is so refreshing to hear someone with "star power" like Conan O' Brien give much due respect to Pearl Jam. Indeed, Pearl Jam are one of the greatest bands in the world- maybe the greatest- and have been for a long, long time. One day the haters will be forced to wake up and admit this. The band is just too damn consistently great for them not to.

As hard as it is to believe, Wikipedia, yeah that's right, says the album is supposed to be released September 22 this year. That seems a bit far out but I've seen information on there about PJ before and it was completely accurate. So... we'll see.
And I loved that song. I'm about as jacked as I've been for a new CD ever. They were so on point at the concerts last year when they were writing a lot of this new stuff. I'll be patient though.

Not to have a Letterman bias but listen to his intros for Pearl Jam - "We couldn't be more excited, more happy, and proud that our next guests are joining us for our 1000th show." Letterman loves PJAM and vice versa.
The NY media ripped into the show last night except for and i quote: "Thank God that Pearl Jam finished up the night with their new song. It was the only truly entertaining moment of the night."
Totally digging this new song....can't wait for the new album. This new song, "Got Some" has a "Sonic Reducer" vibe in the chorus. Maybe its just in the same key....totally rocks though.

LOVE the song! Nice to hear them rocking out with a excellent groove and catchy hook. Mike and Stone have a sweet playoff on each other with this tune, as well as Jeff and Matt keeping it tigt. Ed sounds great to me, even with the rough mix (not their fault). I KNOW this will be a crowd pleaser live too..
Now having said that...
ENOUGH with the comparison to Devo. I just listened to the song they "supposedly" ripped off and its NOT even close to a ripoff. If you have any musical knowledge and know how, you realize alot of songs have similair sounds, I mean theres only about 15 chords in rock n roll, right (LOL). But to say its a ripoff is really stretching the truth. If you want to criticize feel free, but do so with a meaningful opinion. If you can't, well theres plenty of other sites to go to where you can hate all you want.
For the rest of us jammers...ROCK ON!! Can't wait for Backspacer...gotta Get Some.

First off it's not like PJ don't know "got a gut feelin'" and there sitting around saying "hmmm, we've been making our own music for years upon years...let's steal someone elses."
COME'ON! there are similarities yes, but Jesus it's not stolen and how about thinking maybe DEVO has some influence on the band. Gut Feelin's a really good song and you know what GOT SOME is too...weird two good songs that have similar sounds.
Get over the DEVO crap and ROCK if you wanna rock. 20 years of fantastic music one or two songs might have some of the bands interests in them if not all there songs.

This song sounds better the more I listen to it which seemed to happen with just about every song on the last album too! I cant wait to hear a good studio recording of it because it seemed like the sound guys were off their game. Ed and Matt were too quiet, all you could really hear was Stone, Mike and Jeff. - Always with the bi- or tri- naural album titles, eh... i.e. literal meaning, tentative/alternative meaning, and I'm sure an even more alterior meaning that the band has for it, in this case at the least, for said reptile.
I always wonder about those folks who come on to a website they're (supposedly?) a fan of- or that's the intent of the website anyway -and encourage or outright bring negativity to a given forum or activity there... One can only attempt an unoffensive, intelligent counter/pre-emptive statement to enlighten, or make aware, or just shoot the breeze with others I know dig at least one thing I dig, hopefully to a like degree. A couple of things from a thirteen year member & 18 year fan.....
First, I had a great day today. My boyfriend took me to dinner at a nice resturant, then he got me a kitten, and I also found out Im getting the 2009 exclusive alive guy hoodie. Only 2000 made. Yeah!!
Second, That performance was awesome, the song was awesome, and all the guys looked fantastic!!!! Eddie didnt have a bloated face, hes always had those cute cheeks. He looked more to me like he has been working out. His chest was huge but but his belly was not.
third, there were some not so nice comments on here. Why do people who are not complete pearl jam heads come on here in the first place. This is a spot just for us. Im sure all of you have caught flack in one way or anouther for being obsessed with PJ. This is our place. Besides there incredible talent and long standing fame, they give back to the world with all there charities and protesting. So get the heck out of the fan club so real supporters can have those seats and those exclusive items.
