I put my cd in my computer but cant get free downloads. WHen I click on the download boots link it just takes me to the page on the 10c site to buy them.
Still haven't gotten my cd. This sucks. What's the point of pre ordering through the fan club if you're not going to get the record on time? I could've just went to Target tomorrow and picked it up myself.
Well, aside from buying the cd, I also bought the iTunes version. That one has bonus content that sends you to a link to get 2 free concert downloads. The cd bonus content link just takes me to the bootleg purchase page.

I picked the Philly show because of "Love Reign O'er me" - and it wasn't on there!!! 7 or 8 other songs were missing also! Not too happy about that. Between this and getting my Christmas single in August (only after sending an e-mail did I get one), the tenclub is having another rough year.
So I wanted to support my local indie store and picked the up the album on Sunday. They didn't have the vinyl for sale though, seemed like they never had the option to stock them.
I can get to the extra content on the CD, but I have no link to download any free bootlegs.
Is it available for me even if I didn't buy it from Target?
I will be very bummed if by supporting the local shop (what PJ is, err was, all about) I don't get the option to download the boots.
Wish they mentioned the exact details of the different versions of the CD and what purchasing each version entitled me to get.
It's 9/21 and I still have not received my pre-ordered Ten Club cd of "Backspacer". So lame. What's the incentive of pre-ordering the cd through Ten Club if it doesn't arrive by or before street date? Why doesn't Ten Club/PJ offer an immediate download of the album on release date with purchase of the cd (so you can at least "own" the album while waiting for the cd to arrive via snail mail)? That way I could have at least legally downloaded the album I paid for and listen to it the day it was released on my iPod....instead of streaming it from MySpace or someplace like that. Waiting for a cd to come in the mail is so 1998 anyway. Get with the times. Otherwise I would have just gone to Target yesterday to pick up my cd. Oh well, had to do a minor vent. For all of you whining—the 10c/pj have always taken good care of us in the past, so why do you think they're going to dick everyone over now? If you didn't get yours in the mail by Sunday, try taking it up with the Postal Service. Mail doesn't travel at the same speed in every part of the country. Show a little bit of faith and enjoy the sweet new songs!
i have experienced a few of the same issues already mentioned... first, the CD was read as the self titled Pearl Jam, but played the new music. i manually updated the track listings/title, etc and ripped it w/zune software. however, the year was still reading as 2006, so i decided to delete all the files and start over. this time the CD was recognized as Backspacer and the track listings auto-populated. so i re-ripped, added the disc to my collection and subsequently dragged the album to my zune... despite saying that the music has been added to my player, it hasn't been - and i've tried at least 10 times to add it and it just won't take. anyone else have trouble getting the songs onto their MP3 player? well, i'm seeing the fellas play tonight in Seattle - should be killer.
The new album is awesome! I purchased it through 10c and it arrived early on 9/18. For those of you that ordered and haven’t received it, that does suck. Unfortunately the postal service isn’t always the best with prompt delivery. It also depends on where you live. I too agree that pre-purchases should have come with immediate download on the day of release but what can you do? The rollout wasn’t perfect. Hopefully PJ and 10C will take our feedback from this experience and change it for the next time. As for the bootleg downloads, Pearl Jam told us in the last newsletter to "Stay tuned for details on free concert downloads from the vault through the Ten Club version of the CD". So if any of you are freaking out about the download thing, it's coming. Pearl Jam and 10C are very accommodating and I'm sure they'll take care of everybody -- even if you purchased your cd at a local record shop. PJ is not looking to scam us. I recommend being patient. I'm sure you'll get the answers to your questions shortly. I just think bombarding 10C with complaints is just going to prolong the fulfillment process. Anyway, I wish all of you well. The CD is not to fault with your Zune or its software not working properly. The same goes for how the song titles/info appear. All apps like iTunes or Windows Media player access titles via a DB that can often be mislabeled.

Funny to hear all you guys complaining about the album being 2-3 days late. I live in Denmark and I haven't received my pre-ordered copy yet. It's the same every time I order something from the TC - delivery 4-8 weeks after the order is processed and take into account local postal services, customs, holidays and poor weather conditions.
I will join the choir of immediate download on the day of release to all of the TenClubbers that have pre-ordered the album. Especially to the international fans that has to wait for additional 4-8 weeks.

I got mine on Friday just fine, but it wont run on my computer, I use winamp, and of course no free concerts, the list it brings up for sale are last years shows anyway that I have already. And now someone posts that they are cut short, of all the things (except not being able to play it 'the worst. So I ordered from Target on line, chose to pay with Amazon, and my order has apparently not been processed no confirming emails, tried I-tunes, which I have never used. I got it all installed then they said I have to have an Apple ID number, but trying to get one wouldn't work either. My computer is way over the minumum requirements, it not a gaming rig but it works fine and has a fast connection.
I do expect some hiccups, I know they are trying, and they are on the road now and I trust them. but still.....
BTW Portland was the most amazing show ever for me(20) so somethings going right.
how about you guys all give the 10c a break, we all know that things that come in the post can take for ever. have you not seen the state of some of those people riding bikes and putting the mail in you letterbox, some of them are not so sharp. the 10c free downloads are coming just read you emails and wait. you just got 11 new ripping songs, these won't be in your downloads so how about just getting enjoyment out of them.

You have to buy the cd from target to get the 2 free downloads the 10club cd only sends you to the goods to buy bootlegs. The way I got zip folder downloads to itunes I used my itunes as my main player, open your zip folder and play each song and they should go right to itunes I hoped this helped let me know.
i got mine last monday at target and it plays greate and i had no problem with the downloads , ijust put the cd in my cd-rom drive and rigth clik on the backspacer icon and a backspacer web page opend and i made my downloads , that easy
Did anyone rip the album to their computer and find that the song titles and album art is from the last album? The songs that play are from Back Spacer they're just the titles and art from the self titled album.
I am hoping this is like the 'Golden Ticket' and I get to meet the band.
RY - I have the same issue. Put the CD into my computer, and the tracklisting/art is from the last cd. Thought it was just my computer, but now I know it isn't....
Omaha, NE...got mine the friday 2 days early in the mail...very stoked...same issues though..artwork/song titles from the avacado cd...but hey...its the price we pay w/new technology...it only takes a second to manually change the song titles...shut up and skate...the music makes up for any mis-haps!!!
I did have the same problem with song titles but I agree. The music makes up for it. They are trying something new so there bound to be some bumps along the way.
finally got backspacer. waited two and a half weeks for the tc version and it still didn't come, so i broke down and went to hmv. the tc version arrived on october 6th. 3 weeks after it was mailed! i got the toronto bootlegs in less than a week! and now the free download problems............. great cd though.
i live in switzerland and got my tc copy of backspacer a couple of days ago. mine was shipped from auckland, new zealand! no wonder it took ages to get here. i get stuff from the u.s. within one week normally. it's a really beautiful edition of the album though. i couldn't download anything either - just got to the standard 2008 bootlegs page. hope this mess will be fixed soon. everything will be forgotten if PJ come to play switzerland next year :-)

Downloaded two of the free gigs in zip folders through backspacer link. Does any one know how to put them onto i tunes so i can put them on my ipod
you have to extract (in other words, "take") the files from the zip folder. I suggest using WinRAR. it's a free download, google it.

Free downloads worked like a dream... put in my other email addresses and downloaded all 10! Try going through "My Computer" if nothing is coming up.
