A lot of people are saying their Target doesn't have it... and worse.... doesn't know anything about it.
Pretty embarrassing for Target, considering they have an "exclusive"

Target has copies that have the album and rockband and warning the rockband doesn't work, do not waste $30 on it, I could only exchange twice and twice the code will not work, they only have five copies, Saw the album but no t-shirts didn't know they would have them.
Has anyone been able to find the Backspacer t-shirts that Target is supposed to carry? The Target I went to today didn't have them.
They have the T-shirts at the Target in Greensburg PA, but they only have guy shirts. I guess that will have to do.
I went to 3 diffrent Targets and finally found one that had it, the first 2 I went to said the warehouse messed up and shipped them all to one location. I also asked about the t-shirts and they just gave me a blank stare. This is why you don't do exclusives with big box retailers they are not there to sell albums.
Now that I really look at it, that is one of the greatest album covers ever.
Kudos to the band for picking the excellent Tom Tomorrow to illustrate.

I got my "exclusive version includes 2 concert downloads" at Target... but where are the downloads? No code to download... but you can get it this way, and yes its the $12 version!
Go to my computer click on it. Go to the cd drive (it should say Backspacer) click on that and then it will say a bunch of things. At the top it will say enhanced cd or something click on that and the album cover should pop up. Drag the cursor over each photo. Should be the train pic.

My Target said that Backspacer wouldn't be in until Tuesday - no t-shirts either. Bummer! iTunes was the better option.
Same question as jseifriz. Where do you go or how do you get the 2 free concert downloads that are advertised? I couldn't find anything in the packaging or at the end of the album itself that would take me to iTunes or the Ten Club???

At the target in Beaverton (Portland, OR), I had to go through 3 different people before I found the shirts myself, still in a box in the electronics department. The girl kept saying, "Do you know if we have 'Pearl Jim' in Men's?" over her radio. Luckily I pre-ordered the cd, because I didn't see that anywhere, either. I would recommend searching in the electronics dept. boxes at your store. Good luck, though.

It is everywhere at all stores in Downtown Vancouver BC-Best Buy,Future Shop,HMV etc. bought it first thing this am for $12 cdn and they play Friday night at GM Place.
What was the sticker on the cover, 2 live downloads all about? i did not see any tag or anything for a code on the regular album from Target.
Put the CD in your computer and run the "backspacer.exe" file. That opens up a new app to access pics, art, and - finally - the two free bootlegs.

BTW, my Target (on the outskirts of San Francisco) had a tiny little shelf with a Backspacer banner and CDs - no t-shirts (I even looked in the mens section, but no luck). Funny, but a Target security guard was putting the price tags on the Backspacer discs...
I was hoping for a mad rush of people running wild with PJ CDs, but twas not to be.
The free downloads is an Enhanced CD function. Open the program on the CD, follow the links. If you put in more than 1 email address you can download all 10 of the shows... I did! No artwork though, so find it online.
It was released in Australia (in every record store... no Target only deal here) on the 18th! It's a fucking brilliant album! "Supersonic" is like "Habit" (awesome) and "Unthought Known" will be a huge sing-along, and Eddie finally opens up his big lungs again!

Good job releasing it on a Sunday. If I would have known my copy would not get here in time through the fan club, I could have driven over to target today and picked it up. Now I get to wait until Monday when I get home from work and hope it's in the mail. Really fun. I'll stop complaining.
I got to listen to it on Myspace with my earphones in (thank you). I gotta say. It's really stripped down and good. The production is really good. It sounds so clean. Ed's voice sounds better than ever. I really like Mike's work on amongst the waves. I can't wait to see you guys in LA ad SD! See you a week from Wednesday! (will my CD be here by then?) :)

got my copy, almost as good a feeling as when I heard the tape on the city bus 19 yrs ago. Can anyone shed some light on the t-shirt thing.
Can anyone tell me how to get the concert downloads? It's listed on the cover, but doesn't have any there.....
I'm downloading my 2 concerts now. Any1 know how long it takes and is it bootleg form or Visual, actual concerts???

Stacy- yeah I did it no prob. just import cd into your library on cpu, then copy over to ipod. I put the cd in and when I opened itunes, it was there, highlight songs and drag to your ipod. it'll ask if you want to import.

Pearl Jam - you never fail to amaze me. Backspacer is effing unreal. I love how the band has evolved. And ED, don't ever be shy about singing country songs. Just breathe could go number one on the country charts for sure!!!!!!!!!

supersonic cd
i bought one copy from target and one online. that should be 4 downloads, but when i put the second cd in, i am just directed to a page where i can buy the 2008 bootlegs. what am i doing wrong?
I was so excited to pick up the CD after work today, I rushed to Target, bought it, almost ran to the car, put it in and - the CD was messed up! It kept skipping on all of the songs. None of my other CD's did this. So - went in again to do an exchange and same exact thing happened.
I am so incredibly bummed out. I had to return the 2nd one and now have to figure out how to get a copy that I'm sure is good :-( But - I am still excited about it being an awesome album!
The real question is, why would Pearl Jam limit accessibility and use only one mega-corporation to distribute their new album? Isn't this kind of diametrically opposed to all things Pearl Jam?

Did anyone else's CD have no artwork on the cover of it? I bought mine and it is completely silver on both sides. I've seen another one that has the Backspacer typewriter key as the art.

My guess is that cds are on their way out. The CD section at the BB by me is down to a couple isles. I'm predicting cd sales will only be a niche market, like vinyl. Going with an exclusive store seems to be the way everything is going. At first i was put off by this, but after thinking about it, the band takes good care of us fans with ten club tix, the concert downloads, etc.

I think PJ limiting its new album's accessibility is to one corporation is very PJ. think about it, they kept Wal-Mart out of the equation, and other conglomerate music stores, while at the same time providing the new album to the independents. Fine by me. By the way, why are they just processing vinyl orders from 10 Club today? Shouldn't they have already had the pre-orders out in the mail so we would receive them today and not next week?
By the way, if you click on the "select Target stores" link on the t-shirt headline, it will show you which Targets will carry the shirts. I just realized this myself. Just saying because there seems to be people confused as to why their Target does not have the shirt. No worries, I was one of them.

wow, Pearl Jam you really suck you know. You guys are fucked. I don't know how you manage to keep making music, concerts and albums with such intensity, freshness and consistency, all the while sounding like vintage pearl jam. You understand you guys are the greatest band of all time. No pressure!!
Im preaty sure I always feel the same way everytime they release a new album. This F*ck#n R@ck$! Man, I cant stop listining to it. I especialy can not wait for the world wide tour for it(come to Michigan). I hope the ticket pre sales dont happen untill after I get my taxes back next year. GOD I LOVE THIS BAND!!
This album makes me fall in love with this band even more. It shows just how versatile they can be. Absolutely beautiful songs! Unthought Known is my newest favorite PJ song.

Live in the UK and only just received my pre-order 10C copy and it's wicked - love it and was worth the wait. However, I'm thinking I may have the buy the general release version too, as the download option on the CD-ROM just goes through to the bootleg download on 10C. Am I missing something??! In fact, all of the links thru the CD rom go to pearljam.com so everything is available via the website anyway!!!
