Pearl Jam premiered today their new music video “Amongst the Waves” in conjunction with the launch of Pearl Jam’s new web page www.pearljam.com/oceans. The third single from Backspacer, “Amongst the Waves” was created by our friends at VOLCOM and is streaming for free from www.pearljam.com/oceans and at www.nationalgeographic.com.
The launch “Amongst the Waves” is part of Pearl Jam’s larger effort to highlight www.pearljam.com/oceans and raise awareness on the efforts of various organizations working diligently on ocean preservation.
Beginning July 6th, “Amongst the Waves” will be available for sale on iTunes with proceeds from the U.S. sale of the video benefiting partner organization Conservation International's Ocean Campaign.

As in I don't think it contains Step into Liquid clips.
The footage looks like it comes from the Philly halloween show. At one point in the crowd you can see a person with their face painted like the grim reaper or something.

Yeah everybody, quit putting oil in the ocean!....yep, that sounded just as crazy as I thought it would after reading it back... I didn't realize there was a debate on wether or not we should destroy the ocean........is anyone actually pro-ocean destroying? I'm not sure even BP intended for for that mess, so why bother launching a don't destroy the ocean campaign? Isn't everyone already on board? The fact of the matter is pearl jam couldn't function as a band without oil. Even if you discovered a "clean, renewable" energy source, like Doc Brown did in back to the future II, to replace the gas in your car, it is in the makeup of the vehicle itself down to the tires. It is in EVERYTHING we use on a daily basis, except for maybe your hemp sandles. I doubt you could find a piece of equipment on stage that doesn't use oil to make it. Oil is not evil, I don't buy that for a second. Love the song, keep writing sweet tunes!
